Bridlington & the Wolds Business Awards

This is the first award that Katie Walker Cancer Trust has been nominated for.

More than 330 people gathered for the glitzy Chamber of Trade Awards ceremony in the Royal Hall of the Spa, Bridlington. The event showcased how businesses small and large are thriving despite the recession and showing innovation and determination to be successful.

Katie Walker Cancer Trust reached the top 3 in the Social Enterprise category and although we did not win it was great recognition for the trust and a fantastic achievement.

Neil Watson (of the Bridlington Chamber of Trade) stated that “The social enterprise category was the hardest to judge.

 

Tesco Magazine Achieving Mum of the Year Award

Each year Tesco Magazine look out for women who've shown incredible bravery and dedication or who have campaigned tirelessly to help others or inspired others beyond belief for their awards – and this year they have chosen 8 women have shown that they can turn what they have learned as mums into care and support for others in real difficulties and transform tragedy into triumph.

The thoroughly deserving winners will all enjoy a glamorous day out in London at the star-studded awards ceremony. They will meet a host of celebrities and will be wined, dined and pampered – treated as the very special ladies that they truly are.

Katie Walker Cancer Trust is proud to announce that Julie Walker has been crowned Tesco magazine Achieving Mum of the Year in the national awards.

Julie dedicated the award to Katie as it was her wish that the charity be set up after her death and it is Katie’s inspiration that keeps her going and Mick her husband who also works tirelessly for the charity.

 

Yorkshire Coast Radio Local Hero Awards

Julie & Micky are pleased to announce that they were entered into the Yorkshire Coast Radio Local Hero Awards.

The Black Tie Award Ceremony took place at The Royal Hotel in Scarborough on Friday 15th April where they were treated to a beautiful 3 Course Meal and entertainment by The Reason 4.

There were 6 Awards to be handed out on the evening and Julie & Micky proudly accepted the Make A Difference in The Community Award which was sponsored by Pagan & McQuade Opticians. The Award was to honor someone who has shown great commitment to the area within which they live.
